Petrus de Beer

Petrus de Beer is a professional violinist-DJ whose unique combination of skills represents a one of a kind musical offering for events!

After gaining his Masters in music at the RAMD in Glasgow, Petrus started working as an orchestral musician for the then Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, where he worked as a principal player before deciding to become a freelance musician. He is now involved in various musical projects and performs a variety of styles - not only classical but also Blues, popular music and Gypsy Jazz. He has taught at the University of Stellenbosch (violin & viola), and is an active member of the Cape Town Tango Ensemble.

Petrus has made numerous recordings for television, CD and DVD. He has recorded with artists such as David Kramer, Zanne Stapelberg, Vicky Sampson, Arno Carstens, Luna Paige and Schalk Joubert.

His passion for a wide variety of music lead him to also start performing as a DJ since 2009, and he has since has established himself as an ideal choice for weddings, corporate events and private functions, and has worked for top event companies such as The Aleit Group, Wedding Concepts, BonTon Events, and Just Jack.

Petrus also has a network of other top professional musicians with whom he collaborates to tailormake his musical offering - creating the event of your dreams.
