Ambient Horizons offers you a jazz sound like no other available in Cape Town, or South Africa, with its unique instrumentation and repertoire choice; available for weddings, corporate functions and private concerts. Whether you wish to have tasteful performance for the discerning listener with the music taking centre stage, or an easy-but-interesting listening experience to complement the mood of your function/event, Ambient Horizons will deliver a shimmering sound with professional performance. Our music is largely improvisational in nature, working with a distinct variety of tunes to create an eclectic palette of sound. This is our modern re-invention of the jazz trio where beautifully melodic compositions intertwine with thoughtful, creative and truly improvised solos.

The group consists of a trio of musicians, Jarryd West on Drums (bandleader), Alex Mayers on Bass Guitar and Frank Mallows on Vibraphone. Having worked with numerous Jazz artists (i.e. UCT Jazz Professors & Lecturers) as well as established groups (i.e. Cape Philharmonic & Pops Orchestras) in a plethora of musical settings and environments, we are both comfortable and capable on-stage musicians.
