The Graeme Watkins Project
Location: Based in Johannesburg

Biography
It’s not often that the South African music scene sees a band explode the way The Graeme Watkins Project did in 2011. After the release of their debut album “Corridors of The Mind” in March 2011, the band’s spacing in the South African music industry changed dramatically, making them a hot product at most events and festivals around the country.
In the space of one year they produced 5 Top 10 hits singles from the album. 2012 Saw them tour the album extensively both locally as well as internationally, and working with international producers on material for their follow-up album. Their Follow Up Album, “Soldier On” was released mid 2013 and saw the band touring extensively for the next two years. After a brief breather from recording, GWP returned to studio in 2016, producing radio smash hits such as Love In Abundance (2016) and You Come Running (2017)
GWP brings a dirty, edgy, rough approach to a medley of pop, indie, rock and electronic genres.
“A Masterpiece is a stroke of genius in a moment of madness… So live life like a madman” is Graeme’s motto, and there is definitely madness incorporated into his music. With a range of songs incorporating a host of genre’s ,From Rock, to indie, to pop to deep and meaningful ballads, or acoustic bounce downs of popular chart toppers, this band is full of surprises.
Their ADHD inspired beat, the music is designed to get the crowd into the mad-capped mindset of the band members, to break out of their comfort zone and rock out to the all-encompassing movement of the melody.
The band have been involved in some of South Africa’s hottest festivals and events over the past 6 years. Kirstenbosch Old Mutual Encounters, Splashy Fenn, Rocking The Daisies, The World Flow championships, The St Francis Ruins Fest, You Spectacular Awards, Idols SA, Mnet New year spectacular, Gary the Toothfairy Royal Variety Show, Oppikoppi, Zimfest and Joburg day.
Over the past few years the band has been nominated for multiple SAMA, MK And You Spectacular Awards.
GWP was also responsible for the incredibly catchy RAMSLAM T20 anthem advertising the hugely popular cricket series, as well as the Regent Insurance Highway Hero’s campaign with their 2016 hit, Love in Abundance.
With National and International tours under their belts, GWP find themselves as on of South Africa’s most Loved Indie- Rock Bands.
Currently sitting on over 5 top 30 charts around the country with their current single “You Come Running”, the band is looking forward to getting on the road again, once finishing their much anticipated follow up single “Faith”
