Fynbos Ensemble

Fynbos Ensemble is a vibrant and versatile group of professional Classical musicians who perform at a range of events in and around Cape Town and the rest of the Western Cape and beyond.  Lead by acclaimed flautist, music entrepeneur and influencer Carina Bruwer, the ensemble has it all - highly skilled professional musicians who live to perform; decades of collective experience in the South African music industry and an in-depth understanding of the role of live entertainment in vafrious contexts, a unique sound and lengthy repertoire, and above all - a can-do attitude to ensure a great value-add to your event.

The flute and string quartet, trio or duo combinations represents a refreshing variation on the traditional string ensemble, with the flute enhancing the warm romantic sound of strings and widening the choice when it comes to repertoire, with its ability to transform into a Jazz instrument.  The versatile performers bring life to music from the early Baroque, through the Classical and Romantic periods, to contemporary hits. 

Fynbos represents a rejuvenation of the highly sought-after ACE Ensemble, which since 2003 performed at hundreds of events and concerts countrywide, including performances for the presidency, international royalty and celebrities, numerous corporates, concerts and all the main festivals across South Africa.  Our vision remains the same: to elevate the mood and consciousness of our audience through the sheer beauty of our music - whether we are centre stage at a chamber music concert, or performing background music at a special wedding or corporate event.  

Fynbos Ensemble's repertoire library covers more than 10 hours' music which includes a wide range of pieces from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, as well as modern and contemporary music.  We can do an instrumental arrangement of practically any song, and are also able to provide instrumental accompaniment for a vocalist or any group (at a wedding ceremony or a corporate production, for example).    For event requiring a mostly contemporary feel, we offer an electric string performance with backing tracks.
